US Olympic Trials

Published: Fri, Jun 22nd, 2012

Date and Time: June 21 - July 2nd
Location: Eugene, OR
Event Info:

If you didn't know by now the road to London begins today at the 2012 US Olympic Trials. Take Notice Sports Management athletes will get a "jump" on things Friday, June 22nd as Joe Allen and JaRod Tobler compete in the Men's Long Jump qualifying round, with the finals being held on Sunday, June 24. Both of these men look to improve on their 2008 trials performances where Allen was 7th and Tobler was 6th. Also friend to Take Notice Sports Management Norris Fredrick will also be competing in the Men's Long Jump as well.

On June 28th Chandra Brewer will take her "shot" at making the US Olympic Team as she competes in the Women's Shot Put. Brewer looks to improve on her 2008 personal performance of 18.03m which left her 4th and one spot away from making the Olympic Team. Chandra has built momentum the last four years waiting for this moment, lets see what happens in a few days. The finals of the women's Shot Put will be held June 29th.

Also on June 29th three women's will "leap" their way towards their Olympic dream. Amber Bledsoe, Natasha Coleman, and newcomer to the Take Notice family, Janae Gennette will compete in the Women's Long Jump qualifying round. All three women have been having great success throughout the season, now it's time to go to battle in what will prove to be one of the biggest competitions of the trials. The finals of the Women's Long Jump will be held July 1st.

These 7 athletes that I mentioned are getting ready to face some of the best competition in the world. Not only that, but they are among some of the best in the world in their respective events. The US Olympic Trials are unofficially called the "first olympics" because of the level of competition. This will be no cake walk, but I believe in the work that these athletes and coaches have put in and now it's time to execute. May God Bless you all on your endeavor and go out there and make them sit up and TAKE NOTICE!!!
